On 11th October, five teachers from the English group of the Primary Department participated in the classroom teaching competition for young teachers organized by the Primary Department. This activity is in the form of the classroom teaching contest with heterogeneous forms for the same subject. The topic is ‘Unit 3 Part A Let's talk’, the first volume of PEP, Grade 4. The candidates are young teachers under 35. The English teaching and research group leader, the lesson preparation group leader are the judges, and the guest judges are Anqing Foreign Language School's President Madam Huang Wenli, also an English teaching specialist as well as Director Xu Zuitai of the International Department who provided help and guidance.
Specifically, the participating teachers attached great importance to the competition and made a lot of preparation before class. In the competition, the teachers' lively English songs, pure English pronunciation, scientific teaching design and rich classroom activities stimulated the students' learning enthusiasm, and also impressed the judges on the scene.
After the competition, the participating teachers of the English group and the judges gathered in the teaching and research office to carry out a practical and effective class evaluation activity. President Madam Huang Wenli and Director Xu Zuitai were invited to attend the meeting. Madam President affirmed the teachers' careful preparation of classroom teaching and gave relevant suggestions to the young teachers' teaching work in the future, encouraging the teachers to keep learning, push their limits and climb new heights on the way of teaching.
Overall, after the fierce competition, two teachers Ma Huan and Yu Qingwen were awarded the winning prizes, and three teachers Lu Le, Pei Hua and Tang Juan were presented the Excellence Award. This classroom teaching competition has promoted the growth of young teachers who have benefited a lot. In the meantime, everyone agreed that they would always adhere to student-centered teaching, study the teaching materials, innovate boldly and contribute their strength to creating the characteristics of English teaching in the Primary Department.
